Local Links Fields
Local link fields are Link Fields between Data Elements within the same component.
Such links are visualized by a relationship line between the concerned Elements.
Within the properties toolbar, only the base variants can be specified (Ln01, Ln02, Ln03).
Creating Opposite Links
To add an opposite link (Ln04, Ln05, Ln06), use the Opposite Link checkbox which adds/removes the opposite link variant with the proper Ln type.
Changing the Ln type for the base link automatically updates the opposite Ln type to ensure consistency. Similarly removing the base link removes the opposite link.
Links Without Base Links
Local links that are missing their base variants are visually distinct and offer the option to create the necessary base link.
Remote Links are Link Fields between Data Elements across different components. This can be a link either to another component within the same application, or to a base component.
All components that are configured as dependencies of the current component are listed.
If you need to link to another component, you must first edit the component dependencies. You can also edit the application dependencies here.
The choice of proper is Ln type is the responsiblity of the user and is not enforced here, however ReverseLinkField rule will warn you if a base link is missing.
